Overview

Centermark Placements has been retained by Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers (SJFMC) to recruit a Vice President of Medical Services.  This is a senior clinical leadership role created to strengthen clinical quality, elevate provider performance, and support the organization’s mission of delivering accessible, high-quality primary care across South Jersey.

SJFMC is a mission-driven, nonprofit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) headquartered in Marlton, NJ, with nearly five decades of uninterrupted service to the communities of Atlantic, Burlington, and Salem Counties. With an operating budget in the high-$30 million range, nearly 250 employees, more than 50,000 patients served annually, and 35 providers across eight clinic sites, SJFMC is one of the larger FQHCs in New Jersey.

The VP of Medical Services reports directly to Chief Medical Officer with a dotted line to the Chief Executive Officer. The role is structured as approximately 50% clinical (direct patient care) and 50% administrative leadership.

The Role You'll Play

  • Clinical Leadership & Oversight

    -- Provide leadership across Family Medicine and Internal Medicine providers
    -- Partner with the CMO to support clinical strategy, care delivery, and provider performance
    -- Promote consistency in clinical standards and workflows across multiple sites

  • Provider Development & Engagement

    -- Mentor and support physicians and advanced practice providers
    -- Assist with provider recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies
    -- Foster a collaborative, high-performing clinical culture

  • Quality & Value-Based Care

    -- Lead initiatives to improve clinical quality metrics and patient outcomes
    -- Support the organization’s participation in value-based care and population health programs
    -- Ensure adherence to clinical best practices and regulatory standards

  • Operational Collaboration

    -- Work closely with operations leadership to align clinical and operational performance
    -- Help improve patient access, throughput, and provider productivity
    -- Contribute to system-wide efforts to standardize care delivery

  • Compliance & Risk Management

    -- Support compliance with FTCA requirements, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards
    -- Ensure clinical documentation and practices meet organizational and federal requirements

Background Profile

  • Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of New Jersey

  • Demonstrated interest in clinical leadership, provider mentorship, and improving care delivery across a multi-site organization; formal leadership experience preferred, but not required for candidates who show strong aptitude and interest in developing into a leadership role

  • Ability to balance clinical practice with administrative leadership responsibilities

  • Experience working in primary care, community health, or underserved patient populations preferred

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and administrative leadership

  • Commitment to the organization’s mission of improving access to care for diverse and underserved communities
