Centermark Placements has been retained by a large, well-respected Federally Qualified Health Center in the Greater Philadelphia area is seeking an experienced revenue cycle leader ready to do more than manage a department — this is an opportunity to build a department.
The defining challenge/opportunity:
Lead the full transition of the organization’s billing and coding operations from an outside vendor back in-house — building a high-performing internal team with precision, speed, and zero disruption to cash flow. This is a build-it-right moment, and the incoming director will own it from strategy through execution.

Architect and drive the transition of all outsourced billing and coding functions to an internal, high-performing team — including hiring, training, workflow design, and vendor wind-down.

Revenue cycle strategy & performance
Set the vision and KPIs for the entire revenue cycle — from front-end eligibility through back-end collections. Own the numbers: denial rates, days in A/R, net collection rate, and clean claim rate.

Team building & culture
Recruit, develop, and inspire a best-in-class revenue cycle team. Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and pride in performance across billing, coding, and patient access.

Payer strategy & contract optimization
Lead payer contract negotiations and ensure the organization is maximizing reimbursement

Compliance & integrity
Ensure all billing and coding practices meet federal and state regulations, HRSA/UDS requirements, and FQHC cost-reporting standards

Technology & analytics
Leverage the EPIC platform to its full potential. Introduce dashboards, reporting infrastructure, and process automation that give leadership real-time visibility into financial performance.

C-suite partnership
Serve as a trusted financial partner to the executive team — translating revenue cycle performance into clear narratives, strategic recommendations, and board-ready reporting.
What You'll Bring

Significant leadership experience running a high-performing, in-house revenue cycle department — ideally in a community health, FQHC, or multi-site ambulatory setting

Demonstrated success leading a billing/coding insourcing or major operational transition - preferred

Proven ability to build, lead, and retain revenue cycle teams through periods of significant change

Strong analytical mindset — you live in the data and know how to use it to drive decisions

Exceptional communication skills — comfortable presenting financial performance to boards and non-financial stakeholders
