The Role You'll Play
The Medical Director provides comprehensive administrative and clinical leadership for the Medical Services of East Bay Community Action Program. This includes providing direct and indirect supervision of a diverse group of medical personnel, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing and medical assistant staff.
Working in collaboration with Senior Management, the Medical Director directs Health Center Medical operations and policy setting. Additionally, the Medical Director serves as the external clinical leadership contact and leads efforts for continuous quality improvement and value-based care initiatives in conjunction with the Quality department. This role is crucial in ensuring the Health Centers function as a synergistic, harmonious, and productive entity, fully integrated with other EBCAP components to fulfill the organization’s mission and objectives.

Background Profile
- MD/DO licensure. Will also consider experience plus advance practice credentials (such as FNP, PA-C, etc.)
- Board Certified is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years leadership experience
- Previous clinical experience in a community health setting and experience working with diverse populations is valued

- Desire and ability to collaborate cross-departmentally (especially with operations) ensuring seamless integration of clinical and operational strategies to improve patient outcomes and meet goals
- Systems-change-oriented with experience that may include implementing clinical aspects of Value-based Care, leading standardization of clinical guidance, partnering with executive stakeholders to improve processes and training that leads to enhanced provider productivity and clinical outcomes, implementation of provider incentive programs, etc.
- Maintains an effective balance between competing priorities, advocating for the organization, the provider, and the patient
- Excellent communication skills and leadership style with the ability to build trust and rapport. Creates excitement among team members explaining the “why” when promoting change
- Strong project management skills to drive initiatives in collaboration with healthcare leaders, providers, and staff both internally and externally
