The Company
- In 2016, the clinics of three Long Island Human Services agencies formed Long Island Select Healthcare, Inc. (LISH) - Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI), Family Residences and Essential Enterprises (FREE), and United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Suffolk Inc. (UCP)
- Operating budget of $22M with 130 employees. Company provides care to 7K unique patients with 80K visits annually through 5 health center locations
- Strategic investments were made into telehealth capabilities prior to the pandemic. As a result, the organization was well prepared for the changing healthcare landscape. Their telehealth capabilities remain on the cutting edge under the leadership of their Director of Virtual Care Services
- Operating as a Federally Qualified Health Center, LISH provides patient care to everyone in the community regardless of one’s ability to pay. A large portion of their patients include Intellectual/Developmentally Disabled (ID/D) individuals making them unique among other FQHCs
- Robust mix of service lines to treat the “whole person”. These services include Primary Care, Dental, Behavioral Health, Allergy, Audiology, Chronic Care Management, Dermatology, Endocrinology, OB/GYN, Neurology, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Physiatry, Physical Therapy, Podiatry, Psychiatry, and Speech Therapy

The Chief Executive Officer will work out of the Long Island, Central Islip location – 1/3 of the space is dedicated to administration and 2/3 is clinical
Background Profile
- Prior executive experience with a multi-site, FQHC is desirable
- High level of expertise in healthcare finance
- Forward thinking with the ability to lead the organization through the evolving healthcare landscape
- Team builder with a focus on internal customers
- Desire to make a long-term commitment to see the organization through many years of continued success
The Role You Will Play
- Provides ideas, proposals and recommendations as guides for developing organizational objectives to the Board of Directors. Develops and Implements a long-term strategic plan which defines objectives for each functional group within the organization serving as a guideline for the addition or enhancement of functions and specific capital improvement/expansion over the long term
- Recommend specific organizational policies and procedures which conform to organizational objectives
- Prepares and manages an annual budget which provides adequate resources for the continued operation of the Centers. Is expected to use the financial plan in three primary modes: as a device for coordination and balancing resources; as a standard for measurement and control; and as an expression and means of obtaining short-term objectives such as growth, productivity gains and grants
- Orients new members of the Board, makes Board member recommendations, and attends all Board of Directors and subcommittee meetings
- Provides vision, leadership, motivation, inspiration, and direction to the organization
- Continuously reviews and analyzes the administrative and operational functions, policies and procedures, strategic planning process, financial status, and fund raising activities of the organization
- Leads an executive management team in the operation, development, and management of administration and the operation of the health centers
- Maintains an effective and safe environment, ensures implementation of sound risk management policies and systems, and ensures compliance with all legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Ensures ethical business practices in all aspects of the organization
- Establishes adequate control systems for the accounting function to ensure the integrity and security of the corporation's assets
- With the Chief Medical Officer, ensures that the character and quality of services delivered to the patients is always of the highest quality
- Develops and maintains a management system and personnel policies consistent with the needs of the organization
- Measures and manages staff in a way which respects their dignity, recognizes their contributions to the mission and supports their development
- Creates relationships; pursues strategic alliances and partnerships that will promote fiscal viability and growth, community leadership and state of the art service delivery
